Please advise our reception staff if you have had any previous blood tests, imaging tests, colonoscopy or gastroscopy procedures. Our staff will source these reports prior to your appointment.

Please arrange for someone to drive you to and from the hospital. You are unable to use any form of public transport including taxis, uber, trains, buses, etc. You cannot drive a car or operate machinery for 24 hours after an anaesthetic. If you need a medical certificate we are happy to provide this after your procedure is complete.
Please make sure you have followed the fasting instructions (no food or fluids) on your preparation sheet. Inadequate fasting increases the risk of complications and may cause your procedure to be delayed or rescheduled. The exception is you can ONLY drink water up until 2 hours prior to your procedure.
Please advise when booking your procedure of any allergies, drug sensitivities or any other allergies.
DO NOT take your diabetic medications on the day of the procedure. If you are taking INSULIN, please contact our rooms prior to your procedure so management of your insulin can be organised.
Please check with your GP if you are taking any blood thinning medication such as Warfarin, Apixaban, Clopidogrel, Plavix or fish oil. These medications may have to be ceased prior to your procedure. If you need to cease your blood thinning medication, instructions will be provided to you when booking your procedure.
On the day of your procedure, please take your other medications (e.g. blood pressure medications) with a sip of water at 6am.
After a procedure, if you have any severe abdominal pain, bleeding, vomiting, fever, or other symptoms that cause you concern, please contact our rooms (within office hours) or your GP. If you have severe symptoms, please attend your nearest Emergency Department.
