Dr Ashleigh Kapnoullas is a Melbourne-trained Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist currently practising in Perth. She completed her medical degree at Monash University and undertook physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. Dr Kapnoullas moved to Perth to pursue advanced training in Gastroenterology, followed by a fellowship in Hepatology and General Gastroenterology at Fiona Stanley Hospital.
She holds a public hospital appointment at Fiona Stanley Hospital, where she works across both General Gastroenterology and Hepatology. In addition to her public role, Dr Kapnoullas provides consultation and endoscopy services at St John of God Hospital in Murdoch.
Dr Kapnoullas has a broad range of clinical interests including coeliac disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis, iron deficiency anaemia, fatty liver disease, alcohol-related liver disease, and addiction medicine. She works closely with the Addiction Medicine department at Fiona Stanley Hospital and has played a key role in establishing a joint Hepatology–Addiction Clinic to provide integrated care for patients with complex liver and substance use disorders.
